“It began as a diary. It became a movement. And now, it’s becoming something even more.”
Five years ago, I published The Invisible War, a raw and urgent chronicle of life at the edge of a global pandemic. What started as daily dispatches from the lockdowns of Chongqing grew into something more: a living document of grief, resilience, satire, philosophy, and survival. It captured not just the chaos, but the poetry—the absurdity, the data, the hope.
And now, it’s coming back—reimagined, remastered, and reborn for 2025.
The Invisible War is getting its first hardcover release
An audiobook trilogy is in the works—narrated in part by virtual voices, with future plans for human narration
Each volume is being carefully edited, with updated context, a new afterword, and visual refinements
And yes—new covers. Bolder. Sleeker. More aligned with the trilogy’s arc.
This is more than just a reissue—it’s a new lens on history. Because we’ve lived through more since then. We’ve seen what stayed the same, what changed, and what still needs to.

Over the next few days I’ll be sharing glimpses from the refreshed editions—favorite passages, guest stories, new material—and inviting you, the readers who lived this with me, to walk back into the storm with wiser eyes. I am working hard to get these done and done well, because it captures a moment we may enjoy looking back on one day.
Here’s a sneak peek at the new cover of Volume I: The Invisible War.

Because the story isn’t over.
It never was.
Stay tuned.
